40 minute leisurely ride or
a one-and-a-half-hour leisurely walk


Start Point: Meadowhall Interchange

// Leave the interchange and head right
// Cross the road at the traffic lights
// Head left over the bridge to Meadowhall
// Turn left and join the Five Weirs Walk
// Follow until it meets the Canal
// Cross the footbridge at the tram stop
// Head right along the Canal
// Follow the Canal
// Go past Tinsley Marina and the lock ponds
// Follow city centre sign post up the bridge
// Turn right into Centertainment complex
// Follow cycle lane route out of complex
// Turn left onto Attercliffe Common
// Turn right onto Carbrook Street
// Turn left again at Weir Head
// Pass through Five Weirs Walk archway
// Head right along the river
// Turn right along Weedon Street
// Cross over and follow the path
// Pass Hadfield’s Weir
// Turn left and cross bridge
// Head towards Meadowhall Interchange

Accessibility

Please note that not all areas of the Blue Loop are fully accessible. The path along the Five Weirs Walk by the River Don is entirely accessible to those with restricted mobility although some sections do involve footpaths alongside roads. The towpath along the Tinsley Canal varies in width and quality. There are also steps in certain places.
