Tinsley Loop

45 minute walk


Start Point: Tinsley Green

// Walk along Lifford Street
// Turn right onto Dundas Road
// Cross Sheffield Road
// Turn left on Sheffield Road
// Turn right and follow footpath to Canal
// Turn right at Canal
// Walk along past the locks
// Go over the footbridge
// Turn back when you reach the Weir just after Jordan Bridge
// Walk all the way back along Canal
// Pass under the motorway
// Continue along the Canal
// Pass under the Sheffield Road bridge
// Cross lock immediately after bridge
// Walk up steps to Shepcote Lane
// Look out for underpass on the left
// Head under underpass back into Tinsley

Accessibility

Please note that not all areas of the Blue Loop are fully accessible. The path along the Five Weirs Walk by the River Don is entirely accessible to those with restricted mobility although some sections do involve footpaths alongside roads. The towpath along the Tinsley Canal varies in width and quality. There are also steps in certain places.
